Help Us Celebrate!

Well, this year marks 15 years of wedded bliss, and we hope all of our friends and family can help us celebrate at an informal event this summer. The event will take place on the afternoon and evening of Saturday, August 8th at the home of Jim and Danielle Vachow in Suttons Bay, Michigan and will feature dinner, drinks, maybe a little music, some reminiscing, and an overall good time. While the Saturday dinner is the main planned activity, we hope that many of you will come a few days early and enjoy the Northern Michigan summer. There is a lot to do around the greater Suttons Bay and Traverse City area -- golf, hiking, shopping, siteseeing, and plenty of water-related activities on Lake Michigan. This is a popular tourist destination area, and so it will be important for everyone to make travel plans as early as possible, especially for lodging which is already filling up.

We are using this blog web site as the place to post details about the event and travel information for those who will be coming from afar. For people flying in, you will want to fly into the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan (airport code "TVC"). You will also want to rent a car to be able to travel around the area. Suttons Bay is about a 40 minute drive north up the Leelanau Peninsula. For lodging, there are a number of options in terms of style and price, from large resorts to B&Bs and smaller inns and motels. Above is an initial list of lodging opotions with phone numbers, we'll post additional info with websites soon. Also above is a general map of the area.
